Trinidad: Never Means Never

Friday July 18, 2003
It's been 14 months since Felix Trinidad fought his last fight. It's been a year since he shocked the boxing world by announcing his retirement. Trinidad, now 30 and at least 25 pounds over his fighting weight, maintains that he's content and never coming back. In boxing, however, never rarely means never -- especially when it comes to retirements. Don't be shocked if Tito finds a big money rematch with Oscar De La Hoya a lot more enticing once his promotional contract with Don King expires on Sept. 29, 2003.
