Corrales Edges Casamayor in Rematch
Wednesday March 10, 2004
Diego Corrales avenged a sixth-round TKO four months ago by narrowly outpointing Joel Casamayor over 12 rounds to take the vacant WBO junior lightweight title. Corrales built an early lead but was dropped by a straight left hand in the tenth. Two judges scored the bout for Corrales 115-112, while the third favored Casamayor 114-113. A rubber match seems inevitable.
