Hearns' Son Wins Pro Debut

Wednesday April 7, 2004
Middleweight Ronald Hearns, a son of former champ Thomas Hearns, KO'd Alex Black at 2:23 of the first round to win his pro debut. Hearns, 25, flashed some of his dad's legendary power -- flooring Black (2-1) with a counter left hook and then forcing the referee to stop the fight by staggering Black once he got up at the count of nine. Thomas Hearns is serving as his son's manager.
