Klitschko TKOs Flabby Sanders in 8

Sunday April 25, 2004
What is it with fighters not getting in shape to face Vitali Klitschko? Lennox Lewis was not in top condition but still won on cuts. Kirk Johnson came in shockingly flabby and unprepared. And now Corrie Sanders comes in with a spare tire around his waist. Klitschko, to his credit, was in good condition and over the course of eight rounds wore down a Sanders that was still dangerous -- even though he was only able to muster the energy to flurry once or twice per round. Klitschko - the closest thing to a legitimate champ in the heavyweight division - now hopes to lure Lennox Lewis back to the ring for a rematch of their June 2003 bout which ended after six rounds with Klitschko's face a bloody mess.
