Tyson-Jones Still in the Works?

Wednesday May 5, 2004
Manager Shelly Finkel envisions reluctant heavyweight Mike Tyson fighting three times between now and the end of the year. Sounds good. Absolutely no shot in the world of that happening. In Finkel's fantasy world, Tyson would fight tomato can Kevin McBride in July; another stiff-to-be-named-later in September; and, finally, Joe Mesi (or Lamon Brewster, Vassily Jirov, Monte Barrett or James Toney) at Madison Square Garden in December. Then, assuming Tyson goes 3-0 in those bouts, he'd face Roy Jones Jr. in early 2005 in a mega-money PPV bout. So Finkel would have us believe that Tyson - who has fought exactly three times in the last three-and-a-half years - is now going to fight three times in the next six months? Yeah, right.

Well what”s the likely-hood of this still occuring these days? I personally don”t see Roy Jones beating Hopkins anymore?!!! So, a fight with Tyson seems ridiculous to say the least!!
