Bowe Released from Prison

Thursday May 20, 2004
Former heavyweight champ Riddick Bowe has been released from prison after serving 17 months for kidnapping his first wife and their children in 1998. Bowe, 36, was released early for good conduct but will remain under home detention until his sentence ends June 8. Bowe last fought in 1996 and is widely thought to have suffered some degree of brain injury during his career. Sadly, it is nevertheless all but inevitable that Bowe will resume his boxing career at some point in the not too distant future.
