Chavez Tops Randall in "Final" Bout
Tuesday May 25, 2004
Julio Cesar Chavez outpointed Frankie Randall over ten rounds in what was advertised as the final bout of his 24-year professional career. Once considered the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world, Chavez, now 41, finishes with a record of 106-5-2. Randall, 42, who handed Chavez his first defeat back in 1994, falls to 58-15-1. On the undercard were two of Chavez' sons, Julio Jr., who scored a first round KO for his eighth professional victory, and Omar, who fought an amateur exhibition match.
