Tyson Must Avoid Countdown Meltdown
Wednesday July 28, 2004
Mike Tyson is in Louisville making final preparations for his bout Friday night against Danny Williams. The fight, Tyson's first in 17 months, might give some indication of how far Iron Mike can go in his latest comeback. The heavyweight divison is wide open and the sport could certainly use the attention that only Tyson can generate. Perhaps just as important as the outcome of the bout - which is basically a foregone conclusion - is how Tyson handles himself both in the days leading up to the bout and also immediately after the referee tells him to stop beating Williams up. Now he's projecting an eerie calm that many are attributing to newfound maturity and a need to get his finances straightened out. Sounds good in theory but let's see if it lasts ...
