Roy Jones Jr.. Glen Johnson
knocked out Jones in the ninth round in what likely repesents the end of the Jones' reign among the elite fighters in the sport. Jones lay almost motionless on his back for almost four minutes after he was knocked down by a hard right to the head and the back of his head bounced hard off the canvas. Jones finally walked out of the ring with help from his trainers. Any hopes of quickly putting his KO loss to
Antonio Tarver behind him was wiped away as Johnson outworked Jones throughout the bout and finally stopped him. Jones' reflexes appear to have slowed just enough to make him hittable and he never showed the necessary fire to win this bout by outworking his opponent.
Bowe Returns with KO: Riddick Bowe had a more succesful return to the ring, knocking down hapless Marcus Rhode four times before Rhode's corner finally stepped in and put an end to the bout at 2:45 of the second round. Bowe's controversial comeback after eight years out of the ring and widespread belief that he suffered some degree of brain damage in the ring will apparently continue ...
