Review: Contender Episode 2

Jesse Brinkley defeated Jonathan Reid by decision in the second episode of NBC's reality-series "The Contender". The fight appeared to be relatively close, but that may have as much to do with editing as anything as - once again - there was far too little actual fight footage in this episode to satisfy real boxing fans. Nevertheless, the show packs an emotional punch as viewers are drawn in by the personal stories of each fighter and his family. It's hard to watch these decent, hard-working guys having their dreams crushed on national television. The next episode airs Sunday night at 8:00 PM ET/PT in what will become its regular time slot.
