Ready for the Rematches?

Friday July 29, 2005
Roy Jones Jr. and Bernard Hopkins have dominated the light heavyweight and middleweight divisions for the past decade. However, each is now in the twilight of his career and looking to avenge a recent defeat. Jones will get a third shot at Antonio Tarver on October 1. Jones won the first fight by narrow decision. Tarver knocked Jones out in the rematch. The question in this fight will be whether or not Jones can still take a punch after two consecutive KO losses. On December 3, Hopkins has his own shot at revenge when he gets his contractually-mandated rematch with Jermain Taylor. Taylor took a close decision from Hopkins on July 16. Hopkins is already talking about facing Winky Wright on January 28 if he gets by Taylor. Jones and Hopkins are first-ballot Hall-of-Famers but they've each got their work cut out for them if they plan to go out on top.
