Second Life for "The Contender"

"The Contender" hasn't been knocked out after all. Weak ratings caused NBC to opt out of a second season of the boxing reality show but ESPN has announced that it is picking up the series. Season Two is scheduled to air as part of ESPN's primetime schedule beginning in April 2006. ESPN also has options to renew the series for two additional installments. In other Contender news, Peter Manfredo Jr. and Alfonso Gomez will likey be facing each other for a third time in September on ESPN.

I’m a Contender follower and I’m so happy that ESPN picked up the show. The last 3 fights have been awesome and hopefully this show will gain more audience!!
