Tommy Hearns Charged with Assault

Tommy Hearns has been charged with assault and battery after an altercation with his 13-year-old son at his home in Southfield, Michigan. The former champ was arraigned on misdemeanor charges, then released on a $10,000 personal bond and ordered not to have contact with his son. Details are sketchy but police indicate an argument between Hearns and his son became physical and there was a scuffle which may have also included Hearns' wife. Hearns, 47, returned to the ring last July after a five-year absence with an eighth-round TKO of John Long.
