After five rounds of action, Erik Morales was winning his rematch with Manny Pacquiao and appeared as if he might be on his way to a second win over the Filipino superstar. However, the tide turned dramatically in the sixth round and after that it was all Pac Man. By the tenth round, Morales appeared completely out of gas and was knocked down twice. Following the second knock down, refereee Kenny Bayless waved off the fight without a count for the first KO loss of Morales' illustrious career. Morales absorbed significant punishment during the fight and his nose appeared broken. After the fight, Pacquaio said he was willing to give Morales a rematch as called for in the fight contract, but Morales said he planned to take a long vacation from boxing. After losing three of his last four, that's not a bad idea at all. As for Pacquiao, he may be in line for a big-money rematch with Marco Antonio Barrera, who he stopped in 11 rounds in their first meeting in 2003.
