Sturm Wins WBA Middleweight Title

Felix Sturm (25-1, 11 KOs) won the WBA middleweight title in convincing fashion with a 12-round unanimous decision over Maselino Masoe (26-3, 25 KOs). Sturm, who previously held the WBO middleweight title, outboxed the more powerful Masoe to earn scores of 117-111, 117-111 and 115-113 from the three judges. Sturm's only defeat came in 2004 in a very close fight with Oscar De La Hoya that many ringside observers felt could have gone either way.
