Klitschko KO'd in Mayor's Race

Former heavyweight champ Vitali Klitschko has failed in his bid to become mayor of Kiev. The fact that Klitschko lost was not nearly as surprising as the fact that both Klitschko and incumbent mayor Oleksandr Omelchenko finished behind Leonid Chernovetskiy, who was trailing by eight points in pre-election polling. With a career in politics no longer an option (at least for now), perhaps Klitschko, still only 34, will consider returning to the ring to restore some order to the heavyweight division he left in disarray with his unexpected retirement . . .
