Boxing Fails Math: Barrera Edges Juarez
As if boxing doesn't have enough problems already, it turns out the sport can't handle simple addition. A further examination of the scorecards - this time by someone with a solid grasp of second grade math - revealed a mistake in the addition of the scorecards. Turns out the scores were actually 115-114 Barrera, 115-113 Barrera and 115-114 Juarez. This type of incompetence - almost unheard of in the "major" sports - is all too common in boxing.
It's a shame the bungled scoring will be the lead story because the fight itself was great! Barrera (62-4) had his hands full with Juarez (25-2) as the younger man stalked the champ from the opening bell and applied steady pressure for 12 full rounds. Barrera exhibited a more effective jab but Juarez landed the greater volume of power shots. Juarez was fresher down the stretch and might have been able to pull off the upset if he had turned up the pressure on Barrera a bit earlier. Barrera did just enough to win the fight but his nose was bleeding and his face was badly swollen by the fight's conclusion. Barrera, 32, is far from finished but on this night he began - for the first time - to show some signs of slowing down after nearly 17 years of professional prizefighting.

I would have settled for a draw, but it seems like the politics in boxing prevailed again.
Juarex was a lot better than I thought he woudl be against the great MAB, perhaps all those ring wars are finally taking their toll on MAB.
Given MAB’s performance I would advise him to steer clear of Pac Man
Rocky won!!! Barrera was on the run most of the fight…. He tried to keep Rocky off him with the jab but had no luck… He went low a handfull times but was never warned… He throw a few rabbit puches but it didnt seem to work.. Berrera is on the way out… If he’s smart he’ll keep clear from Pacman..
Barrera was slightly ahead on points but anyone seeing the fighters afterwards would have guessed Juarez won. I am a staunch Barrera fan but it looks like he maybe fighting too many wars.
It was a great fight that neither man deserved to lose. I do feel that Barrera won the most rounds. Rocky Juarez is a talented and tough fellow. I think Barrera may have had too many
tough fights and should consider retirement. He is a fine man and I would hate to seem him badly hurt.
What IS happening to boxing?!!!!
Bad thing is .. This judges doesn’t pay for there damages or even lost their license if there is.. I just remember the fight between Marquez and Pacquiao when one of the judges failed to give Pacquiao the right score.
WHAT A SHAME!!!!
MAKES BOTH BOXERS LOOK BAD,AND THEY WERE BOTH GREAT.
WHO THE HECK PICKS THESE CLOWNS(JUDGES) ANYWAY.I THOUGHT I WAS SEEING A FIGURE SKATING FARCE WITH THAT TYPE OF JUDGING…SHAME,SHAME,SHAME..
After watching Pacman destroy Erik Morales last week, the readers here are so right. MAB may want to fight his last fight againt the Pacman.. and he better be ready for a war, and will likely be KO’d. If the courts let GB Productions handle this fight over Arum, Inc., this fight will happen sooner than Arum’s. Bob Arum is a Jewish version of Don King. This is why boxing is where it is politically.
