I’ve followed Elder for a while. He is subject to knock downs, but the kid has a very good beard otherwise. I just don’t believe he would have been TKO’d that quickly by anyone. Though he is in a bigger weight class than normal.
Grady Brewer was not impressive and got cut but could be a finalist. Experience will play a factor. Steve Forbes is up with the higher weight fighters and should be in the later rounds. Wright has the style but did not beat anyone of substance. Bundrage upset one of the favorites in Clark and could be a dark horse.
For as great as Steve Forbes was and i expected him to be, i think that Freddie Curiel has more heart than any other fighter on the show. I think Sugar should give him a recall next year!
Micheal Stewert i think is the best fighter and he has a positive atadude guys i think micheal stewert is seson 2 contender Champion forbes didnt look good it the first too rounds there are better fighters than freddy and freddy was beating him up steve there are guys twice as better as freddy Steve just a little heads up Watch out For Micheal ”No Joke” Stewert your going tobe tko!!!!!!
The two best boxers, as opposed to brawlers: Forbes and Wright. Now that would be an interesting fight.
But I wouldn’t count out Bravo. I don’t think he’s the most likely, but I think he could be a dark horse to win it.
I agree that Freddy showed tremendous heart in his fight.

I think Nick Acevedo is the man to beat. He has the style to give everyone problems. He burned out first go-round (as a pro), but– if he truly wants it– he’ll be tough to beat.
Freddy Curiel fought his heart out. I thought he was going to do it. His fight against Forbes was an excellent BOXING match. I would love to see a rematch!
I think the ref ’stunk’ in the fight between K9 & Walter. He should have taken points off due to ’several warnings’ to STOP holding. Walter should have won the fight! Another rip off.
I was very disappointed in tonight’s fight (9-5-06). K-9 fought a “dirty” fight and should have had points taken away. This time the better man went home. Hopefully, in the end someone will give K-9 what’s coming to him (and I don’t mean the championship). Let’s say, the dawg needs to be back on the porch!
IT was ugly i agree but the first and last round were definaltley k-9s. Wright didnt seem to want it enough in the 5th round. He (Wright) look great in his first fight. I thought he was going to Box him to death. Just came out Flat and almost intmidated it seemed compared to his first fight against Eason. I had it 2-2 going into the last round. K-9 just stole it from him with some good shots in the last round.
Tonights fight between Wright and K-9 was one of the worst referre’d fights I’ve seen in years. This is exactly the reason why fights today seem to be fixed and predictable. Not to mention it’s the reason why fights are not being watched or respected as they were in the past. K-9 was out classed and should have been docked points. Wright was clearly the winner and the better boxer. One again we have let refeere’s, judges, and poor sportsmanship tarnish the sport of boxing. I expected more from the Contender and will think twice about ever watching the series again. I also have cancelled plans to attend the final at the Staple’s Center, because I wish not to be part of a series that would promote the very thing that is ruining the boxing industry.
fans remember the fight is edited and they are trying to sell and market this show. K 9 is a bad ass and Wright was the cocky fighter that lost. Remember Wright said in his first fight that his 1st opponent did not respect him too. I will bet Forbes is concerned with k 9 still left to fight. Great show Sugar!

I couldn’t agree more with 13, 12 is a little harsh. The show is editted to make the fights look close so you’re forming solid opinion based on spoon fed fragmented information, sound effects, and creative camera angles. K9 was holding but was it excessive enough to dock a point? That decision is left entirely to the referee who is, afterall human. Good fight K9 and congratulations on your unanimous decision win!
I think that Nick and Freddy would have made it to the final four if they had of chosen to fight earlier.
From my seat K9 won the fight against Walter Wright and I expect him to win it all, he my not be the best boxer but he is by far the best fighter,there is no one on the card that is as strong as K9 or who has as much to lose,I was rather suprise at the ref stepping between Wright and K9 after all good fighters do hold at times,Walter Wright should have boxed K9 but he blew it by trying to fight him toe 2 toe and anyone who thinks that K9 can not box did not see his first fight on the contenders when he out boxed a boxer with more skills, K9 seems to adjust his game to win and that why I think he will win it all, Mr fox I plan on getting that ticket at the Staple Center because I feel the contenders are the best thing to happen to boxing and those boxers trying to make a safe living for themself and there family, the show will go on without you Patrick.
i dont care what any one says my boi k9 gonna take it all if he goes to the final. even walter wright couldnt handle that power. even though i loved the way walter faught he just let k9 get to him.
Yes, k9 was a bit unfair in the 1st couple of rounds but if Walter really wanted the fight as much as he was talking trash he would have won it. He didn’t have the power & desire that k9 had to win the fight. Congradulations K_9.
I hope that Bravo makes it to the finals. He has a lot of heart and is representing the Mexicans out there. I think he might take Brewer. I think he is an aggressive fighter and deserves the title as much as anybody else
What a disapointment!! The show doesnt have fair judges.This last fight with bravo was a terrible decesion, one judge had it 48 to 46 and sent bravo home,I know boxing and that was not fair neither for bravo or the fans watching your show.I know I wont be waiting for your grand finale at the stapley center,just to be disapointed again no thanks!!,stallone and ray should really consider the art between boxing and acting!!
I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT THE JUDGES GAVE GRADY THE FIGHT LAST NIGHT. GRADY DID BOX WELL, BUT THERE IS NO WAY HE BEAT BRAVO. BRAVO FOUGHT HARD AND HE DID NOT LOSE THAT FIGHT. I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE DECISION.
I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE JUDGES LAST NIGHT. BRAVO SHOULD’VE WON THE FIGHT LAST NIGHT. HE WAS A BETTER FIGHTER THAN GRADY. IT WASN’T A FAIR DECISION. BRAVO IS A VERY DEDICATED GOOD FIGHTER. CONTINUE REPRESENTING THE MEXICAN HERITAGE.

I must say, that was a good fight between Grady and Bravo. However, I do believe that Grady did deserve the victory. Grady got knocked down but he didn’t give up, he kept at it. Some fighters would have given up after that but he didn’t. Both fighters was hungry in that ring so they gave the win to the better man. All the fighters were there with the same vision and goal which was a great thing. PLEASE STOP THE HATE AND CONGRATULATE! And far as Forbes and K9, I give them bothers two thumbs up because they showed true sportmanship at end and that is what it is all about. In spite of K9 dirty ways, he still was there to win it like the next man so he did what he had to do. Congrats to all THE CONTENDERS ON SEASON 2.

I think Bravo should have won over Grady. That was a bad decision that the judges made (was they blind). It was the best fight I have seen since I been watching the contender but my vote was for Bravo. Keep your head up Bravo because your a winner to alot of us.
does anybody out there know what kind of credentials did the judges from bravo-brewer fight have? they took a good mans dream away from him; because of their ignorance………
Yes I like Bravo, too. That man was awesome I was hoping he would win. I hope good things come to him. I hope his children go on to become successful buisness men.
