Barrera-Marquez, Holyfield, Duddy in Action

Thursday March 15, 2007
Boxing fans have an action-packed weekend to look forward to with multiple televised cards from which to choose on both Friday and Saturday.

On Friday, John Duddy vs. Anthony Bonsante (from season one of The Contender) is on PPV; Cruz Carbajal vs. Eric Aiken is on ESPN; and Celestino Caballero vs. Ricardo Castillo and Michael Moorer vs. Sedreck Fields (plus Raul Marquez and Jorge Paez Jr. in undercard bouts) are on Telefutura.

On Saturday, the big event is the WBC super featherweight title fight between Marco Antonio Barrera and Juan Manuel Marquez on HBO-PPV. The card also has Daniel Ponce De Leon vs. Gerry Penalosa for the WBO super bantamweight title and Demetrius Hopkins vs. Steve Forbes (runner-up in season two of The Contender). If you prefer heavyweights, Evander Holyfield vs. Vinny Maddalone and Calvin Brock vs. Ralph West will be on another PPV card. The rematch between O'Neil Bell and Jean Marc Mormeck for the WBC/WBA cruiserweight titles also takes place on Saturday (in France) and will be televised in the afternoon on MSG (check local listings for availability and details).
