Easy Wins for Paul Williams, Arreola

Friday September 26, 2008
WBO welterweight champ Paul Williams (35-1) made a cameo at middleweight and knocked out Andy Kolle (17-2) at 1:31 of the first round. A beautiful combination - punctuated by a left to the chin - sent Kolle to the canvas and nearly out of the ring. Kolle gamely attempted to beat the count but was in no condition to continue. Williams may defend his welterweight title on Nov. 29 on HBO ... all he needs is an opponent.

Rising heavyweight prospect Chris Arreola (25-0) dominated Israel Garcia (19-2) until the referee jumped in to stop the beating at 1:11 of the third round. The 27-year-old has a brawling, crowd-pleasing style that has the potential to bring some life to the heavyweight division ... but first he's got to test himself against a top ten opponent. When he does, he'll want to weigh less than the career high 258.5 he weighed for this bout.
