Pacquiao-De La Hoya Exceeds One Million PPV Buys

Friday December 12, 2008
As expected, Manny Pacquiao's one-sided blowout of Oscar De La Hoya generated more pay-per-view buys than any other event in 2008, with 1.25 million buys and $70 million in PPV revenue. This marks only the fourth time a non-heavyweight event cracked the one million buy mark ... and De La Hoya was a participant in all four (Floyd Mayweather, Felix Trinidad and Bernard Hopkins were Oscar's opponents in the other PPV blockbusters).

The announced live attendance at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas was just over 15,000.
