Poll: Valuev vs. Holyfield. Who Will Win?

Tuesday December 16, 2008
On Saturday in Zurich, Switzerland, Nicolay Valuev (49-1, 34 KO KOs) will defend his WBA heavyweight title against Evander Holyfield (42-9-2, 27 KOs), who has been inactive for the past 14 months. If for no other reason than out of morbid curiosity, you're interested in seeing the 46-old-former champ square off against the 7' 0", 320 pound Russian Giant, you're in luck. The fight will be available in the U.S. on pay-per-view at 3 PM ET (12 Noon PT) for $24.95. There's nothing much of interest on the undercard (no surprise there) but at least they're not charging $50!

Oddsmakers have made Valuev nearly a 10-1 favorite (-1000/+650). Who do you think will win? Valuev or Holyfield? Vote in our poll.

This fight should’nt be on PPV. What has
Evander done to deserve a title shot this
time around?

sad to say, i’m actually going to buy it. It’s only 24 bucks and i’m a serious boxing fan. He may be over the hill, but this is the only heavyweight belt he’s got a decent chance at getting. And at 5 to 1 odds, I’ll gladly take Evander. You heard it here first. Bet the house! Why not? If you’re like half of America, its probably up for foreclosure anyways.

The poll leaves out the most pertinent choice… who cares?

A 46 yr old Holyfield (who once lost his license due to ‘diminished skills’) shouldn’t be fighting at all, much less in a PPV title fight! Get the steroid sustained grampas like Holyfield and Toney out of the picture and make a real title fight. Let’s face it, until Valuev decides to fight one of the Klitschkos he really can’t claim much.

If the WBA does not overturn that decision, they can forget another viewing from me.

That was crap. And the whole fight was crap too.
