Chad Dawson (27-0) defends his light heavyweight belts tonight in Las Vegas in a rematch with former champ Antonio Tarver (27-5). Last October, Dawson won the first meeting with relative ease - 118-109, 117-110 and 117-110. Dawson is 26 and getting better. Tarver is 40 and clearly fading. There is no good reason for this rematch. The only storyline is that Tarver is undefeated in rematches after losses (3-0) and promises to add Dawson to the list by "letting his hands" go this time. What, it never crossed his mind to try that in the first fight?
Prediction: Dawson by another dull, one-sided unanimous decision ... which Tarver will dispute.
HBO (9:30pm ET) will replay last week's Manny Pacquiao-Ricky Hatton fight before the live Dawson-Tarver bout. If you haven't seen it yet (or even if you have), it's worth the six minutes to see an all-time great at the top of his game.

Not much to watch… 2 rounds of Hatton getting knocked silly by the best in game and 12 rounds of Tarver doing a whole lot of nothing. Be nice when both of these guys fade back to the obscurity they deserve.
