Mayweather Comeback Postponed
Wednesday June 17, 2009
The comeback of Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been delayed indefinitely after he damaged cartilage in his ribs and was forced to stop training. Pretty Boy reportedly still intends for Juan Manuel Marquez to be his comeback opponent - possibly on Sept. 19 - but the original July 18 date is definitely off. Any chance Mayweather has decided to skip Marquez altogether so he can try to secure a mega-payday with Manny Pacquaio before Pacman moves forward with a possible Nov. 14 date with either Shane Mosley or Miguel Cotto? We'll see ...
Elsewhere: Amir Khan's first title shot has been pushed back from June 27 to July 18 because WBA junior welterweight champ Andreas Kotelnik has a tooth infection that has disrupted his training.

I wish Floyd would just skip ahead as fast as possible to the Pacquaio mega fight. Why? Because despite his undeniable talent, I think Floyd is a punk (on a personal level) and Manny (IMO) is the only boxer out there with the arsenal capable of seriously hurting Floyd.
In a perfect world the fight would end with a lights out flurry and Floyd on his back so fast and hard the ref would wave off the count. I don’t wish him any long term injuries of course, but I hope when he goes down, he goes down HARD so there can be no silly excuses after the fight.
I can’t stand the guy – I just wish he wasn’t so damned good….
Cheers,
It’s timely that Mayweather got a ‘valid’ excuse to postpone the fight to have more time to market coz according to some boxing sites the fight does not sell.
@ Dean, I think you are right, lets have the Mayweather Pacquaio fight asap!
When I heard that the fight been postpone,I don’t now it about slow ticket sale. The fight will be a good one , just remember it is not a tune up fight for mayweather and over one year and a half Mayweather wasn’t active,i don’t I like Mayweather but if he win this fight ,the fight I want to see is pac/mayweather I really wish one of those guys wipe Mayweather up teach him a lesson give Mayweather a real defeat something would shut him up.
