The Sept. 19 bout between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Juan Manuel Marquez exceeded expectations with one million pay-per-view buys. The $52 million in PPV revenue makes it the highest-performing event of 2009 and only the fifth non-heavyweight event to reach one million PPV buys. Mayweather's 2007 win over Oscar De La Hoya still sits atop that list with 2.44 million buys.
The Nevada State Athletic Commission reports that the live gate for Mayweather-Marquez was $6,811,300 on ticket sales of 12,009.
Imagine how much money Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquaio would generate ...

I don’t think the fight lived up to the hype. It seems like all the guys Mayweather fights are smaller than him if he wants real competition he should move up in weight.
That’s why they call him Floyd “money maker” Mayweather….LOL
Mayweather and Marquez put up a good fight,Mayweather fights will bring ppv buys and sellout fights in near furture. Now Pacquiao and Cotto fight wil be a good one to watch.
No one can complain about the match after the match is done.I favored Mayweather but did not think it would be lopsided.
Yeah the fight was pretty good. mayweathers defense is really impressive. I think he can beat just about anyone. Pacman will be the best fight for him. He is really underated, he can/will never get the props he deserves. 40-0, you can’t hate on that record. he has fought pretty impressive fighters if you look back at all his fights. Ex: he beat de la hoya & you hear De La Hoya was washed up. But when Pacman beats the same fighter a year later he gets all the credit in the world?
