Mike Tyson Comeback?

By , About.com GuideMarch 6, 2010

Follow me on:

Mike Tyson is 43, hasn't fought in nearly five years and has shown no desire whatsoever to return to the ring. Nevertheless, numerous internet sites are running with a story from an "anonymous" source, described as "close to Tyson", that the former heavyweight champ has a deal in place with promoter Don King to face Evander Holyfield later this year. Sounds totally credible, right? Wrong. King, who would happily promote an entirely unnecessary third meeting between the two future Hall of Famers, denied the report. He did not, however, deny that he was working with Tyson on a comeback fight against another opponent. Stay tuned . . .

as much as i liked tysons boxing early in his career as boxer puncher i have always said he was at best a very good boxer. He never fought the calibre of fighter that would put him in the top bracket of heavyweight boxers of the past. His muted comeback will only diminish his current standing as a very good heavyweight!

i hate when aholes say tyson never fought anyone….he beat everyone that was around in his era!…thats the best…how would he do against fighters from back when? we will never no…but how would those guys do against guys in his era?…..bottom line he would have broke marcianos record of 49-0 if he never got rid of his original corner rooney etc…

MIKE TYSON WAS THE BEST.IF YOU PUT ALL THE TOP 20 HEAVYWEIGHTS IN THE WORLD INTO ONE BRACKET, IN THEIR PRIME, NO ONE WOULD MATCH MIKE.HE WOULD HAVE DROPPED ANYONE IN UNDER 7 ROUNDS.YOU DONT NEED TO BOX 15 ROUNDS CONTINUOUSLY TO BE REMEMBERED AS A CLASS ACT.JUST LOOK WHAT HAPPENS TO YOU WHEN YOU DO TOO MANY ROUNDS( “ALI”)??? YOU DO IT THE SMART WAY,AND GET IT DONE QUICK.BUT YES, HE IS JSUT TOO UNFIT, AND HE TOOK TOO MANY KNOCKS, AND NO MATTER HOW FIT HE CAN GET, NO GOOD TRAINER WOULD PUT HIS BOXER IN AFTER GETTING 5 TO 6 CONCUSSIONS.THE BRAIN REMEMBERS THE BLOWS, AND IT WILL OCCUR MORE FREQUENTLY.MAYBE MIKE SHOULD TRAIN ME….?? 230POUNDS, 6FT AND CAN GIVE AND TAKE JUST AS WELL. LOL MAYBE IF THERE WAS A BOXING CLUB IN PORT ELIZABETH SOUTH AFRICA , BUT THE ONLY 2 BOXERS WHO CAN DO WELL IS HAYE AND KLITCHKO..CHEERS
