If Shane Mosley was supposed to test Floyd Mayweather, then Mayweather passed the test ... with ease. The first round was even. Mosley hurt Mayweather with two huge rights in the second round and it looked like it was going to be a very competitive fight. It wasn't. Mayweather quickly recovered from his shaky round two and decisively won the next ten rounds.
After looking a bit tight in the early rounds, Mosley looked confused in the later rounds as he was unable to land anything meaningful on Mayweather. Mayweather, who typically prefers defense and counterpunching, was often the aggressor in the bout. While age may be catching up with the 38-year-old Mosley, it was the speed and accuracy of Mayweather that made this a one-sided bout.
Both punch stats and the official scoring reflect Mayweather's complete dominance. Mayweather landed 208 of 477 punches (44%) to only 92 of 452 (20%) for Mosley. The scorecards were unanimous for Mayweather: 119-109, 119-109 and 118-110.
Mayweather was guaranteed $22.5 million for the fight, while Mosley was guaranteed $6.75 million. Both fighters stand to earn even more based on the final pay-per-view figures.
Manny Pacquiao remains the obvious choice for Mayweather's next opponent, but the issue of blood testing may remain an obstacle. When asked about Pacquiao after the fight, Mayweather replied "If Manny Pacquiao can take a blood and urine test then we have a fight. If not, no fight." Boxing fans around the world hope a compromise can be reached.
Mosley, when interviewed after the bout, was undecided on whether or not he would continue his career or retire from the sport.

For long time i douted Mayweather, now it time to give him credit. Can think about any opponent who can beat him? Manny Pacquiao? Paul william? Brothers Peterson? the only fighter can give him problems is Andre Berto and Many Pacquiao.

One of the skills in boxing is to not get hit so why complain about Floyd being a boxer instead of a brawler. If want to see brawling watch WWE events. Manny is a good fighter, but fighting Floyd isn’t going to be like the other fights he has had since he has moved up facing fighters that are slower than he is. Floyd has speed and agilty just as he does and descent power to boot. It should be a very good fight!
what makes anyone think Pacquiao has a chance (even with the drugs)? First, all should know that he cant hit Floyd. Second, he’s not strong or big enough. Floyds skills are too much for anyone capable of getting in the ring with him. AND… Whos questioning his chin now? He took Mosley best shots and then made him look outmatched like all the others. Floyd Mayweather is nearly indestructable. I think the only person with a chance of beating him is paul williams. The way to beat floyd is, do you remember the way marvin hagler came out against hearns?, you gotta jump on floyd, overwhelm him and not allow him to utilize his boxing skills. You gotta “thug” him. I know floyd talks alot of trash on Hopkins. That is one man floyd could NEVER beat. Hell, de la hoya fought him, why cant floyd?
Remember what Castillo did to floyd in both fights? Floyd could never truly dispatch him. 25 kos out of 41 wins is not too impressive. That does reflect “playing it safe”
Mosley was 38 coming off of 16 months absence. He was not in his prime.

I haven’t seen the fight with Mosely yet but I give Floyd credit for his victory over Mosely.
However I have to wonder did the blood testing that Mosely did, wear him down for the fight? Yeah Floyd did blood testing too but Mosely is 38 years old is it possible the continuous testing effect him more than Floyd?
Also maybe I’m being cynical but did Floyd delay fighting Mosely until he was 38 years old? And did he agree to fight Oscar when he was 34?
Is Floyd also insisting that Manny take a blood test before they fight knowing Manny has a phobia of needles? And is that a stall tactic to use for Floyd until Manny is older and than Floyd will OK a fight without him having to take a blood test?

I’m not a fan of Mayweather, he talks a big game, he says he’s the best out there….. Too bad Sugar Ray Leonard is not around today, he would wipe the canvas with Mayweather. Leonard had speed, power and was a much better technician than FM. Mosley, I’m bummed and wish you would have put more of a hurt on him in that second round.
I know Floyd beat Mosley soundly, but that was not the Mosley of old. If Mosley wouldn’t have KO’d Margarito than this fight wouldn’t have happened and no one would have wanted to see it. There is one real fight for Floyd and that is pac man. Pac man win or loose is going to put his but on the line and maybe get KO”d doing it. But he would try to get his own KO in the process. I somewhat go on the Mosley hope wagon, but realistically people believed in Mosley because he has been KO’ing some slow punchy fighters in Vargas, Mayorga, and the Margarito win. Shane hasn’t been a super elite fighter since his losses to Forest. I will say I am so disappointed in his efforts, wow he wouldn’t even throw his right hand after the 2nd round it was crazy!

Give credit were credit is due. Both Mayweather and Pacman are Great Champions. Mayweather is undefeated which is impressive. Bur the comentators have mentioned over the years. That the Shane Mosely fight was trying to happen when Shane was in his prime. And there was complications on Mayweathers side. The comentators have been the one saying all along that mayweather has been ducking large fights over the years. Who really cares. The only way officially decide the best is to fight. I hear so many things about the fight. Pac is using, Then pac agreed to testing but wanted Mayweather to fight in Texas and Maywether would becuz, he is using some illegals that Vegas dont test for. Even if Floyd Mayweather jr. was ducking a fight with Shane Mosley years ago, 41 wins and 0 losses with 24(25ko’s?) it’s still impressive and Mosley is in excellent condition for his age and Mayweather gave Mosley is chance and Mosley couldn’t do it. I believe everyone in boxing is beatable. I remember people used to say “Mike Tyson is unstoppable” but then Buster Douglas comes along and knocks him on his ass. People can call it a lucky shot…but all it takes is one lucky extremely powerful shot and a near perfect boxing strategy to beat Floyd Mayweather jr. and I think he should take on Manny even if he is using drugs because when he beats Manny and then the boxing world has noone else to throw at him he can retire 42 – 0.
