Former champ James Toney, 43, lost over 50 pounds and traveled to Moscow, Russia for a shot at the interim WBA cruiserweight title. Unfortunately for Toney, the fight was not the least bit competitive as he was shut out over 12 one-sided rounds by 32-year-old Denis Lebedev of Russia. All three judges scored the bout 120-108.
Toney weighed in at 199 pounds, his lightest weight in over eight years and 58 pounds less than in his most recent bout (a ten round win over journeyman Damon Reed in February).
Toney, who should definitely retire, stated after the fight that he's "definitely not retiring." No surprise there.
