I don’t think Chavez Jr. is as good as he thinks he is. I think Martinez will be too fast and powerful for him. Chavez is going down!!

I am going to be dumb and pick Chavez in this one. I think he may be able to get inside, take away some of Martinez’ awkwardness and do some damage.

Chavez, decision.

Sergio Martinez is probably the real #1 P-F-P Boxer is the world today. His unique style & ultra quick coordination speed of hand & foot, with a razor sharp mind in carrying out his game plans that are put together by one of the top Cornermen in the world in Gabriel Sarmiento. Sarimento is the world class trainer who exhibited an endless tenacious in ensuring his charge has the optimum best chance to win when he stayed all night watching film of Paul Williams the day before the Martinez-Williams bout. In the middle of the early morning hours his boxing brilliance was working overtime as he gleaned the key to victory from absorbing the most critical and material aspects of the next day’s Championship match. On the spot , he dramatically changed Sergio Martinez long planned strategy & was so certain of its success he wrote the outcome on sheets of paper which he distributed to the press just before the bout began. Martinez by KO in 2 rounds. He also named the method & manner in which the KO would occur. His prediction was 100% accurate. This has to be the most prophetic and greatest prediction in Sports history because of its detail & the fact it was memorialized as providing evidence that can never be contradicted as being a fable.

While Chavez will be a Cruiserweight in the actual bout, as he was versus Andy Lee, he will find a substantially better practitioner of the art in Martinez. Chavez lost every round against Lee until his sheer size overwhelmed the Irishmen. If that match were held prior to these new crazy weigh-in rules, Andy Lee would have beaten Chavez easily, because Chavez would actually have to be a Middleweight like Lee. These new rules a recipe for disaster and wind up consistently having guys fighting technically in one division but literally in another. Nobody ever weighs the actual weight limit anymore in Boxing. Through rehydration we’re seeing Cruiserweights or guys 200 lbs fighting at middleweight (160). This is inane & dangerous. It’s also the only hope Chavez has. Maravilla Martinez is of such a rare commodity that not even the American Marvelous one could have beaten him. Yes, even Hagler would lose to this Boxing wizard from Argentina. The only other argentine arguably in his class was the great & underrated Nicolino Locche, whose boxing brilliance in the past was something to behold, as is Sergio Martinez’ today.
