Hall of Fame Trainer Emanuel Steward Dies at 68

Emanuel Steward, one of the most accomplished and respected trainers in boxing history, has died at the age of 68 after a brief illness. Steward, whose Kronk Gym in Detroit became legendary for producing tough, world class fighters, managed and trained (and often served as a father figure) to more than two dozen champions during his long career.

Steward's superstar pupils included Thomas Hearns, Mike McCallum, Gerald McClellan, Michael Moorer, Evander Holyfield, Oliver McCall, Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., Naseem Hamed, Lennox Lewis, Oscar De La Hoya, Jermain Taylor, Chad Dawson, Miguel Cotto and Wladimir Klitschko.

Steward, who is also well-known to fight fans as an HBO analyst, was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1996.

Boxing has lost another Legend with the passing of Emanuel Steward.
He was as well respected and known as the famous fighters he had .and one of the best true boxing analyst.It is a sad time for boxing.He will sure be missed by all boxing fans.
He was one of the few that actually knew what he was talking about on HBO.Not just making noise to hear himself talk.RIP Mr Emanuel Steward
