Poll: Lennox Lewis vs. Mike Tyson
The fight everyone has been waiting for is finally here. Assuming, of course, it isn't cancelled between now and Saturday. Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson are scheduled to meet in the ring in Memphis, Tennessee on June 8. The first press conference promoting the fight turned into a disgraceful fiasco - thanks to yet another Tyson meltdown - and the atmosphere surrounding this bout feels as much like another celebrity boxing freak show as it does a heavyweight title fight.
Yet fight fans can't resist wondering what the result will be when Lewis and Tyson finally meet in the ring. Will Tyson give his best effort for a couple of rounds and then find a way to get himself disqualified if he finds he can't knock out or intimidate Lewis? Or will Lewis go into his conservative mode (see his Holyfield I & II and David Tua fights) with the intention of using his superior size and skill to cruise to an easy decision? Despite Tyson's faded skills and Lewis' propensity for turning must-see fights into dull affairs, this bout will likely generate the largest pay-per-view audience in boxing history.
