Roy Jones to Replace Foreman on HBO
Wednesday March 24, 2004
HBO has announcd that Roy Jones Jr. has agreed to a multiyear contract to replace George Foreman as the network's boxing commentator. Jones, who fights a rematch with Antonio Tarver on May 15, will begin his duties on HBO's April 10 card featuring Cory Spinks, Zab Judah and Wladimir Klitschko. Big shoes to fill but Jones has the tools to succeed: a brash, opinionated personality and - just as importantly - a willingness to mix it up with HBO's version of Andy Rooney, Larry Merchant.
