Brewster Defends WBO Belt in Germany
Wednesday September 28, 2005
WBO heavyweight titlist Lamon Brewster is defending his belt on foreign soil in hopes of proving he's worthy of being called a true "world" champion. Brewster fights in Germany tonight against Luan Krasniqi as the country celebrates the 100th birthday of boxing idol Max Schmeling. Brewster holds the most-lightly regarded of the four heavyweight alpha-belts but he does own KO victories over both Wladimir Klitschko and Andrew Golota. Krasniqi's best win was a sixth-round KO of Lance Whitaker earlier this year. Brewster better not let the fight go to the judges if he wants to leave Germany with his belt. Prediction: Brewster by late TKO.
