Riddick Bowe Files for Bankruptcy

By October 17, 2005

Follow me on:

It's a headline that's both sad and - at the same time - entirely predictable. Former heavyweight champ Riddick Bowe has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection -- listing more than $4.1 million in claims against him. According to a statement, the filing was related to "business transactions and related litigation, and liquidity issues." Bowe, 38, served 17 months in federal prison for kidnapping his ex-wife and children from their home. Since his release in 1998, Bowe has fought and won twice but the belief that he has suffered some degree of brain damage has made it difficult for him to get a boxing license. A sad story keeps getting sadder ...

Bowe defense used the Brain Injury to get him a lesser sentence…however it was a double edge sword…Now he should seek to train after all he was taught by the GREAT EDDIE FUTCH…he could help train a young Heavy to become the next great….or just keep fighting for liscense or take it over seas…much like Holyfield is doing now…
