Castillo Coasts to Easy Win

Sunday February 5, 2006
Jose Luis Castillo cruised to a unanimous decision over Rolando Reyes over twelve uneventful rounds on the night he was originally slated to take on Diego Corrales in the final installment of their triliogy. When Corrales suffered an injury, Reyes stepped in on short notice but looked more like a sparring partner than a serious challenger. Castillo best summed up Reyes' effort: "He wouldn't fight. All he came to do was get his paycheck and say he went twelve rounds with Castillo." Castillo-Corrales III is expected to take place in June.

On the undercard, Jose Armando Santa Cruz won a narrow 12-round decision over Edner Cherry in an action-packed lightweight bout.
