(2) Donald Wolberg says:

Arthur Abraham is as tough as everyone figured and Jermaine Taylor is as washed up as almost everyone, except Jermaine Taylor and his backers figured. There are now two realities regarding Taylor: he never was as good as expected and he risks very serious injury if he fights again. He cannot survive the punches of the top tier fighters and has been badly damaged in his last fights. Arthur Abraham is a very tough fighter with serious power and an ability to absorb punishment. Taylow was fast for a while, but showed he really is not a heavy hitter and cannot last 12 rounds with top tier guys. The end results will include Abraham and certainly Kessler; now that will be a fight. Hopefully, Taylor will be replaced and will retire for his own sake.

jermane taylor….what can you say…well lets start with retirement. taylor is washed up and needs to really rethink his future as a boxer.he fights one way, doesnt adjust and lacks the punching power that he once had. one out of four in his last five fights….

now on to dirrell..what a great talent….but what was all the antics(falling on the mat, keep lookikng for the offical for help) through out the fight. froch isnt as good as it seem just an average boxer, but some how his heart wills him to win. maybe this fight will get direll on the right path and fight the fight that he is capable of.

(4) Donald Wolberg says:

Wil is correct about Froch/Direll; Froch dod not so much win as Direll lost the fight. He could have won on points if he just kept to a plan. It was not a satisfactory fight mainly because of Direll’s crazy antics of running, clinching, running and sometimes hitting. He is fast but not a hard hitter; Froch is a hard hitter but not very fast and a very straight ahead kind of guy. Direll can do well against other light hitters, but will do the same thing if he comes up against a tough hitter.

(5) Francesco says:

Some excellent points on both Taylor and Dirrell.

Dirrell is young and he lost this fight more than Froch won. Hopefully Dirrell learned from this fight and will keep improving in this somewhat circuitous format.

Taylor is a real concern. He seems to have oddly peaked in the beginning of his career with his 2 fights with Hopkins and 1 fight with Wright. Since then it has been steadily downhill.

The real concern on Taylor is that he seems to take a long time to recover from the KOs, somewhat reminiscent of Big John Tate.

(6) Donald Wolberg says:

Francesco is right on target about John Tate–I forgot. It would be a terrible thing for Taylor if he fights again again–it is just too much of a risk for a guy who has his whole life ahead of him.
